Ok, I got an appointment with an Orthodontist. I didn't make one...My oralsurgeon, Dr. Bertheaux, at Havenziekenhuis made it for me. I've been pondering about wearing braces again & the possibility of jaw surgery ever since I had that long talk with Dr. Bertheaux before he extracted my left-impacted wisdom tooth the day before Christmas.
It's like deja vu... I've been through this before, I had braces & chin-cup when I was 11 to 14y.o.
I don't want to do the surgery for the sake of altering my face. I know that I'm not pretty and I hate my profile.. but I get used to it after all these years. Let me do some thing else, just dont make me undergo surgery. Beside I still have trauma from the day I wore the lousy braces. Mind you, I was the only person in my entire school who was on braces, metal braces! don'tnt know which is worst: "moonraker" or "jaws" as nickname. I think for the first 2 years I didn't meet anyone with fixed braces except at my orthodontist's office... back then, only a handfuls of people knew about fixed-braces.
On the other hand, this sometimes popping, other times locking & cracking jaws of mine have been bothering me a lot. Go I guess I'd better go to the appointment on the 21st
