March 21, 2001: le fort 1 & vso
Problems post op:
1. I have some congestion way up in my right nasal cavity. Strangely enough I couldn't recall having the same problem while in the USA (May 18 - June 17). This problem still persists until present, although some days are better then than the others.
2. I've noticed my swelling / puffiness linger until about February 2002. It was mostly on my right cheek. If I remember correctly, I had some bleeding when they extracted my wisdom teeth.
3. I still had a bit of numbness in the area of my lower right chin, near the middle of the chin and also in the front area of my palate.
4. My right chin and lower lip tingled from touch.

March 6, 2002: removal of plates & screws
Problems post op:
1. Terrible itch from the right-eye downward, it started the day after. After a couple of days I put on warm compress or face masks a couple of times a day to ease the itchiness. The worst part lasted for about 2 weeks. My skin became very sensitive and dry; I figure it was due to anesthetic. Between the end of May and July I had 11 acupuncture sessions, since then the itchiness is virtually gone.
2. Just days after the surgery I started having headaches. I've noticed that cold environment and/or much use of face muscles (to speak, smile, and laugh) induce headache. To tell you the truth, at the moment I'm not so sure if headache is the right word; (shooting) pain in my face (and head from time to time) is more like it. It starts mostly around the highest point of my cheekbone near the temple and spreads toward the eye and upward and/or toward above the ear. When this happens, it feels like my eyelid droop and there is some kind of pressure (?) inside in the eye and head area (I couldn't find the exact word to express this feeling).
3. Right after the surgery, I noticed that the numb area around my chin was bigger than before, it covers part of cheek and under the chin. When I touch one area, I feel sensation in other, for example when I touch the area of cheekbone; I feel sensation (usually tingling or coldness) on my lower lip or chin area. A touch at the end of my lips can send out tingling sensation to the back of my head. It registers cold in more sensitive degree compare to the other side of my face. The front area of palate (just next to bonding) is still numb.
4. During "the itchy period", my eyelids used to twitch from time to time.
5. It was 2 months after, I noticed that when I walk briskly or run, I felt vibration inside right nasal cavity, especially as I step my left foot to the ground. I discussed it with a physiotherapist and she never heard about it before.
6. The area around nostril is puffy and hurts a bit when touched.
7. Sometimes gummy area near old incision hurts a bit.
8. Nasal congestion still persists.
